Terminus y la primera Fundación

Ahora que todo mundo tiene celular parece que hay que actualizar algunos modales para su uso. He tratado de compilar algunas experiencias desde que comencé a salir con una chica que parecía tener el teléfono implantado en la oreja.

El enojo que me provocaba cada vez que tomaba una llamada fue quizás una de las razones por las que la dejé de salir con ella.

A veces contamos con tecnología que simplemente rebasa nuestro entendimiento y por ende nuestra educación. Pensando que hace sólo 20 años mi principal medio de transporte era una bicicleta y tenía muchas ganas de manejar, se me hacía lo máximo, apretar el acelerador, hacer los cambios de velocidad, el ruido. Ahora lo que menos quiero hacer es subirme al auto y formarme en el tráfico. Como extraño mi bici.

Bueno pero ya me desvié.

La etiqueta con el teléfono celular. El celular, llamado así por que las antenas que dan el servicio están dispuestas de manera celular para abarcar mayor cobertura con el menor costo, se ha convertido en el principal medio de comunicación entre las personas. Es un aparato que es casi tan indispensable como un encendedor para los fumadores, si no lo traes o se le acaba la pila sientes que estás desnudo, al descubierto, indefenso, vulnerable.

Las compañías de telefonía celular cada vez hacen más fácil que una persona tenga uno o más teléfonos. Ahora, en las ciudades, es mayor el número de personas que trae consigo un celular que las que no lo traen. Es frecuente escuchar un teléfono sonando casi en cualquier parte. Puede ser dentro de un camión, en un restaurante, un antro, un hospital, iglesia, templo, cine, dentro del salón de clases, en fin cualquier lugar donde la señal llegue.

Con el tiempo nos hemos vueltos esclavos del celular y bailamos a su son o a su tono favorito. A veces, sin darnos cuenta, le damos preferencia a la persona que nos está llamando por teléfono por sobre las que tenemos enfrente. Interrumpimos una conversación para atender otra y a la persona que tenemos enfrente no le queda otra más que mirar a otro lado, distraerse con la carta del restaurante o sacar su celular para ver si no tiene una llamada perdida. Mas encima, gritamos cuando la señal es débil “¿ME ESCUCHAS? … ¡¿QUÉ SI ME ESCUCHAS?! …”.

El extremo de esta situación llega con el servicio de llamada en espera, por que aunque tu estés llamando por teléfono celular puede ser que la persona reciba otra llamada y te diga “a ver, espérame tantito que tengo otra llamada”. Que irónico, ¿no?

Creo que hay algunas cosas de sentido común que podemos aplicar cuando utilicemos nuestro celular.

• Nunca tomar una llamada personal durante una junta de negocios, reunión con empleados o compañeros de trabajo.
• No realizar una llamada mientras estamos haciendo otra cosa como pagar el estacionamiento, depositar en el banco, pagar en el súper, haciendo cola para el cine, etc. A menos que las operaciones sean automáticas, que no haya otra persona de por medio, como cuando pagamos el estacionamiento en esas máquinas traga-monedas.
• Mantener una distancia de tres o más metros de las demás personas cuando estamos haciendo una llamada personal o de negocios. No tenemos por qué incluir a otras personas en el espacio de una conversación que no les corresponde, no les interesa o no les incumbe.
• No usar tonos ridículos para el celular, olvida la cucaracha, la lambada, los Simpson, etc. Algún día hay que madurar. No es chistoso todo el tiempo.
• No hablar en las salas de espera de consultorios médicos, en iglesias, templos, cementerios. En verdad es preferible en estos casos apagar el teléfono y si estamos esperando alguna llamada urgente, ponerlo en alerta vibratoria.
• Evitar hablar en elevadores, auditorios, lugares públicos cerrados en general. Evitar tener conversaciones emocionales en público.
• Cuando vamos a restaurantes, no poner el teléfono sobre la mesa. Esto no es el viejo oeste, donde la gente se sentaba a jugar póker con las pistolas en la mesa. Además de que transmite a todos los de la mesa de que estás dispuesto a usar el teléfono durante la comida o reunión.

En general creo que cubrimos los básicos ‘Qué no hacer’.

• Usar el “manos libres” cuando vamos conduciendo en el tráfico. Removerlo cuando no lo estemos usando. La gente que camina por la calle con el “ear-piece” puesto, más que un moderno Borg, parece un presumido pomposo.
• Avisar que estamos haciendo una llamada por celular, para que no se sorprenda de algún corte.
• Cuando estamos esperando una llamada urgente avisar a la persona con a que estamos platicando y pedirle permiso para tomar la llamada, una vez tomada alejarse por lo menos tres metros.

A esta lista le falta un poco de refinación y complemento, pero ya tenía el artículo en el tintero desde el año pasado y parecía que nunca iba a salir.

Y aquí una idea de negocio. Sabemos que muchos seres humanos creen que las reglas de convivencia no aplican para ellos. Para eso existen los cell phone scramblers. Son dispositivos que estropean la señal celular haciendo que el teléfono no sirva en un área determinada

Cuando pensábamos que ya no veríamos nada más de la exitosa y multimillonaria franquicia de George Lucas en pantalla grande, un trailer pegado a la película de Meteoro nos da luz a algunos. Del trailer uno puede deducir varias cosas, entre ellas que es una animación curiosa con trazos fuertes y colores pastel. No es 2D, tampoco es CGI, es algo intermedio. Está llena de batallas y combates con la espada. Por cierto se alcanza a ver una espada parecida a la de Darth Maul manejada por una malvada Sith (que puedo apostar que muere en la película).

La historia cubre el hueco que existe entre el Episodio II (Attack of the Clones) y el Episodio III (Revenge of the Sith). Esto supuestamente ya lo habíamos visto con la serie de caricaturas del mismo nombre por Cartoon Network, entonces ¿qué es esto? ¿una nueva historia entre otra historia? ¿Jabba tiene un hijo? ¿Cómo le hace para reproducirse? ¿Querémos saber la respuesta?

Parece que George Lucas y los creativos de LucasFilms están atorados en esta parte de la saga. Ni ellos se convencieron. ¿Porque no indagan un poco más en la historia de Han Solo y Lando Calrissian? Se me hace más interesante que volver a ver a los clones peleando por la república, sabiendo que después se voltean, volver a ver al Anakin como héroe, sabiendo que se convierte en un malvado Sith y volver a ver las poses de la resignada Padmé Amidala, sabiendo que se muere de desamor.

Algo diferente en esta película que puede llamar la atención, es que ahora vemos el logo de la Warner Brothers al inicio, en lugar de la tradicional fanfarria de la Twentieth Century Fox.

La película se estrenará el 15 de agosto del 2008, habrá que verla.

En realidad es hermosa, días como hoy, en medio de un gran puente y encerrado por trabajo, te permiten disfrutar de la ciudad.

El tráfico no era nulo, pero era, si se puede decir, justo. Flujo normal, accidentes normales, vehículos por todas partes pero lo importante era el movimiento continuo, dócil, libre. Creo que hoy había la cantidad exacta de habitantes que puede soportar la ciudad. Hay que calcular cuantos citadinos salieron de puente y ahí tenemos el número de gente que “sobra” en la ciudad, el número exacto.

En un alto leo el encabezado de un periódio que grita alarmantemente, “El 40% de la población de la ciudad no paga energía electrica” ¿y eso es noticia? sinceramente creo que la cifra es optimista.

Pregunta: ¿Si todos pagáramos la energía eléctrica, costaría la mitad?

Hoy llegué casi 20 minutos antes a una cita con un cliente potencial. Durante mi tiempo de espera, que se extendió por adicionales 40 minutos, decidí tomarme una foto.

Un prueba de lo aburrido-feliz que me encontraba de estar en una Ciudad Hermosa.

El viaje de la Ciudad de México a Monterrey es de menos de una hora. Sin embargo después de tres noches sin dormir, lo que mas quiero ahora es dormir. Siempre que vuelo pido pasillo pues me siento más cómodo que en ventana, puedo estirar las piernas fácilmente.

Cuando ya estoy en ese efímero placer que es el inicio de dormir, cuando sientes un dulce dolor en los párpados que comienzan a pesar y a pesar para quedarse pegados en un intento de llevarme a esas encantadora y estimulantes ondas beta, la señorita de vuelo (que ahora no sé como se llaman, antes eras azafatas, luego aeromozas, luego sobrecargos y ahora no sé) Llega golpeando con su horrible carrito “¡Señor!, ¡Señor!, aquí están sus cacahuates”…

Este despiadado, terrible, desconocido y sobretodo imaginario ser ha atacado nuevamente. Ahora el sureste mexicano vive en estado de terror y han organizado brigadas de ciudadanos para cazar al “ente”.

Ocho gallinas y un pavo fueron las desafortunadas víctimas en Champotón, Campeche, México.

Las aves de corral se encontraban en el interior del gallinero, hasta donde llegó este ente o ser desconocido, el cual les succionó la sangre para después escapar sin dejar rastro.

Tamay narró que la madrugada del pasado domingo escuchó un gran alboroto y algo como rugidos en el patio de su casa. Salió a investigar y en la penumbra alcanzó a ver a un animal de forma extraña que se alejaba.

Los vecinos dicen que se trata del chupacabras, porque el ataque a las aves de corral tiene las mismas características de cuando hace algunos años se registraron matanzas de animales en otras partes del país.

Lo más extraño de este ser que siempre deja sus víctimas sin sangre, es decir, les chupa toda la sangre, sin embargo, a pesar de tener tremenda mandíbula y afilados colmillos, no se come la carne.

Desafortunadamente el único testigo de esta masacre, el gallo del corral, ha quedado en estado de shock y los vecinos sugieren que lo mejor sería sacrificarlo en un rico caldo, antes de que siga sufriendo por sus amadas concubinas.

Hace poco más de un año ya sabíamos que el que Hugo Sanchez fuera elegido como D.T. de la selección Mexicana era un gran error. Y no fue hasta que le pegó en los bolsillos de los altos “directivos” que decidieron destituirlo.

En su debut y sobre todo después de este, se sentía que su carácter defensivo-hostil y liderazgo insípido no serían suficientes para soportar la presión y todos los compromisos que un seleccionador lleva consigo. Tratar de conducir o dirigir a estelares mexicanos que particiapn en ligas europeas de alta competencia con simples poses y promesas no es suficiente.

Sin duda se ganó a muchos mexicanos con xenofóbica campaña anti-naturalizados, que finalmente fueron convocados para ver si salvaban el barco, pero ya nada se podía hacer con un equipo totalmente desmenbrado y sin rumbo.

Se necesita mucho más que una gran bocota para ser lider, no importa que tan bueno seas en algo, el liderazgo es como la gracia, se tiene o no se tiene.

Ojalá que no regresa la xenofobia y ahora si se traigan a un buen entrenador.

Hay dos cosas que me gustan de ese poster. La idea que pronto estrenarán una película de una serie clásica, que ocacionalmente disfruto en el canal <<Retro y que la Agente 99 sea personalizada por la hermosa Anne Hathaway.

La serie fue originalmente estelarizada por Don Adams (fallecido en nov 2005) y la atractiva Barbara Feldon.  Se grabaron 138 episodios en total y se transmitieron de 1965 a 1970.  Sólo un episodio se grabó en blanco y negro.

Sé que seguramente no será la mejor película del año, pero el cine está para divertir y estoy seguro que me divertiré viendo esta película.
